Hacking Autobooting Wad Manager ISO

That only works for 3rd party controllers. Nintendo's controllers don't allow all 4 directions to be pressed at once with this peice of plastic in the center of the dpad. Tried this yesterday just for fun and had to take apart the GC controller.

Yeah you'll need a tri-wing screw driver to take apart a Nintendo controller (3rd party controllers probably use phillips screws). I pressed down on UP and LEFT with one hand then turned on the Wii with my right hand and quickly pressed RIGHT and DOWN with that hand. I couldn't press all 4 directions using 1 hand.

You forgot that you'll have to take apart Nintendo's controllers. There's plastic that prevents you from pressing all 4 directions at once.

So wait... you didn't sign the ISO?

To use the disk at all the ISO must have a correct signature, that is why Trucha Signer was made.
If you just replaced the file, and didn't Trucha Sign the ISO... then that disk won't work on any Wii, 3.2 or not.

Tichinde925, did you even try this disk?

I dont have a modchip, but I tested it with the backup loader.

I tested it with both the rebooter and by using the loader.

It autobooted automatically when it went back to the system menu, and when launching the game through the loader, it worked.

I didnt have a single problem.

Fine, ill just say it now:

I used the Backup 1.31 Repair Disc as the base ISO. That disc autoboots. I replaced main.dol with Wad Manager 1.3 renamed to "main.dol" Thats all I did.

It worked for this guy:

Just load the disc. It will autoboot automatically upon startup. (If you have a modchip and at 3.2 or less)

Well the amount of people who downloaded from the 3 links = 143.

The odds of one person downloading from all 3 links is slim. If the vast majority of those dont say anything, its presumed to be working.

I read that WiiKey gets read errors some times. Has there been anyone else with a modchip, thats not a WiiKey, have this fail to work? Its like only 1 person with a WiiKey can get it to work.

I've just burnt and tested this. My system is 3.3E - Wasabi drivechip, D2C drive.

Old 3.3 version... ie, no trucha discs normally, but they're ok via gecko.

Normal boot:
When disc was inserted - error screen appeared as it does with trucha signed discs.

Boot to recovery mode (with gamecube controller in port 4, all d-pad buttons...):
When disc was inserted nothing happened. 3.3EUR remained on the screen

Using gamma to reboot back to system menu:
Same as normal boot.



I'm pretty sure you can't swap files without trucha signing. Wiiscrubber probably just did this for you without asking.

please tell me why are you even trying this on firmware 3.3? have you got the allowances that let you use trucha games on 3.3? probably not...

you need to be on 3.2 with old IOS's, then it will work "without error"
