I tried giving this a shot last night. I wanted to inject a Daffy Duck game into SSFII Turbo, but after hitting start, a command prompt would flash open, a .bat file would be made, and then the AutoInjector would just hang and not respond. I'm using Vista, but other people haven't had any problems when using Vista, so any suggestions?

Woops, been busy with stuff. I'll try to get on it right away since someone seems interested.

I still feel bad for all of you that have tried to use the program so many times but still get 4100 errors. My suspicion is its some sort of region issue.

Not to sound like a complete fool, but what exactly is an 'injector'? i googled it and everything but i still dont get what it is, i couldnt find any decent information on it...

and if its alredy been asked before (more than likely lol) then i apologise for that XD

A Injector is a program which will Insert a ROM or your choice into a .wad. The rom you choose will replace the rom already in the .wad.

Its just a term we're using to describe the process of inserting a ROM image into a virtual console wad.

i get that far, but what does that actually let you do?

It lets you play a N64, SNES, NES etc... which isn't out yet in the wii shop.

ah i see, you can make your own channel for that game then?

wouldnt an emulator be just as effective? just wouldnt look as good lol

I had questioned the same thing, but at the same time, there is no real N64 emulator running around for the Wii. So you can inject certain n64 roms into other n64 wads, and play Smash Bros. 64 on your wii.

As well, some emulators have glitches in certain roms. This is a much cleaner faster play.

I'm still sticking with emulators for the time being, but this injection thing has some great workers behind it. I'm very curious to see what happens next

heh, you just answered another of my questions actually that i was goin to start a fresh on... N64 emulation on the wii

i was wondering if there actually was one but i guess not. also yeah i downloaded the smash bros torrent a few minutes ago but i've never heard of it in the VC titles lol.

should be good to play

i might try the injecting thing out now...

The way I see it is the injection thing is more a toy than anything. Right now homebrew is just starting to pick up on the wii, so the current generation of emulators are a little on the rough side. Once emulators catch up and surpass the VC emulator, injection will be obsolete. Until then though, I'm having a lot of fun working on this stuff!

If it works then great job. I'll try it later and make something that includes goldeneye etc. :3

People who are having trouble should read the readme.txt included in the program's files. If you go to where it says "Usage" and follow those steps in a command line, everything works fine. The only problem I'm having is the hanging after classic controller message, which seems a lot of others are too.

Damn, I just realized that I haven't implemented a "Rom won't fit into wad" protection to my program. So if anyone is trying to inject a rom to a wad that is too small, then the program will freeze up and crash.

Well that will be in the next version.

i wish i'd have read that sooner lol. mine came up with this thing when i used the injector...

my.php

is this anything to do with the size of the N64 rom i'm trying to WAD up being bigger than the actual WAD?

EDIT: ok i'm a nob, i didnt read the readme file so i didnt get it right lol. dont it now but i dont know if its worked yet. seems to have stuck still on me.

EDIT 2: and it did work, but the rom i used was far bigger than the WAD. i cant seem to find a WAD over 65MB though...
