Depending on what device classes they make the switch support, when running as a gadget, this could still be very useful.

"Oh, you wants to put stuff onto the switch without shutting it off? M'kay-- just plug it in and use it as mass storage! What's that? You want a highspeed memory dump/search function using USB3 high speed modes? M'kay! We can do that too!"

Etc.

Also, the code to do gadget mode requires implementing at least some level of USB stack. While I do admit that a host mode stack is harder to write, a gadget mode stack is still work you can at least partially re-use when writing the former.

That service is only for Switch-as-Device as it says there. libnx has no support for Switch-as-Host (that requires other services). I doubt they will implement anything else any time soon because it's simply not needed for their intent (debugging and file transfers from the PC to the Switch).

This seems to only be usable in handheld-mode with the Switch directly connected to a host via an USB cable, not(?) in docked-mode.

Cool, i was imagining installing stuff from usb stick, but installing over usb cable from computer might actually be handier.

What’s so funny? Every single CFW out there uses Atmosphere to some degree. What are you expecting from a full release?
