Gaming Atari working on Roller Coaster Tycoon 4?

With news of this magnitude, I thought I might set the mood. Seriously, click that. It’ll be worth it for the nostalgia alone, in addition to what’s about to follow.

There’s a pretty strong rumor going around that Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 is already in the works (FINALLY).

Over on the ATARI forums the developers posted a sticky asking what players are looking for in a new RCT game. The post was originally made in August of last year, and is continuously being updated by users and the developer itself, so it’s be worth keeping an eye on in the future. As far as development cycles go, it’s very likely that the project is currently in pre-alpha status, so take a gander at what ideas they’re working on right now to see what they might include, or release later in an expansion.

I love the RCT series, was playing RCT3 just the other day. But this news is really old now... it was pretty much announced by Atari ages ago. They basically just asked what people would like to see in a new game.

And sausagehead is right, the pic is from RCT1 (which was still epic)

love it
making a freaking scary park
all of my atractions has a max speed of circa 2300 mph
free fall at high speed
a backwards fall at high speed (still working on it, this one is huge)

2300 mph? Considering the speed of sound is 768 mph, and the air speed record (using a manned, airbreathing aircraft that is not a spacecraft) is 2194 mph... 2300 mph is pretty damn fast!

well for rct3 there are hidden options
i use some of them
makes the game a lot easyer

an my rid with a speed of 2213 (real max speed of every atraction) mph
and a intensifity of 60.7 (extreemly high) guest are still going into this one
even they don't like extreme atractions
and a sicknes of 20 (real is around this number)
and they don't become sick eather
and i can build across another coaster they even can overlap as much as you want (build a coaster in a coaster)
