Then you're using sysnand, not emunand.

Emunand is from the early days of CFW, obsoleted by A9LH

Backup SysNAND - So after it says to do this >

• old arm9loaderhax NAND backup with this new boot9strap one --- do i have delete this off the sd card before i can make a new backup as ive still got the a old arm 9 nand backup folder
• on my sd card

and do i have to

• Delete <serialnumber>_nandmin_###.bin from the /gm9/out/ folder on your SD card after ive saved it on my pc

or can i just leave it on the sd card as well as save it on my pc

Check the files it tells you to put on your SD card. Specifically secret_sector.bin:

Note that, only on New 3DS, secret_sector.bin is needed to revert the arm9loaderhax exploit, which is why it is not needed for the installation of boot9strap on a stock console. If you do not have a New 3DS, you do not need secret_sector.bin.

i scrolled down to it but i did not pressed A i just pressed start and it booted back to the 3ds screen Show NAND or user string in System Settings


so i tried to press the power and the start buttion but it loaded god 9 and wanted to backup the sys so i exited it by pressing thehome buttion

is it still safe to update the system now

Not really sure how to tell the difference either, just delete both of them, and redownload the one from FBI that has KunoichiZ/Hamcha as the authors.

Actually, you can also try going into installed titles in FBI and checking the authors for each version.
