Homebrew ARM9Loader -- Technical Details and Discussion

So i can boot with L and R into sysnand and no buttons into emunand. I take it thats the optimal way to go at the moment? And if i want ctrbootmanager if i run the homebrew launcher from emunand it take me to thats So guess im all done?

My favorite configuration is no button sysnand, and 10.5 system

you could just install fbi installer to your sysnand then use that to install homebrew launcher cia onto your sysnand to go into homebrew menu without the need for menuhax.

What advantage would I have by just updating sysnand to 10.5 and using it that way? I was just thinking if i keep sysnand on 9.2 Its always exploitable incase I everything need to redo everything

Only for compatibility with games and eshop

if you're using reinand mod 3.5.3 you'll need the updatedsysnand file in the rei folder to safely update your sysnand.

Yeah see I have eshop access on emunand and every game I have works So i dont know if i should just chill with it how it is for now?

And comeing back from system settings with the reboot used to annoy me. And I guess by doing all this im future proof now?

I used to be on the 360 and ps3 scene way back, remember using an iphone to mod my ps3 lol So i could install cwf on it as i didnt have one of those teensy usb things at the time lol. So pretty new to the 3ds

Also why i did all this today lol brought me back to the 360 days when I soldered my first jtag haha, it just got announced and there was just a crappy diagram and No clear instructions at the time. Feels good once Its complete tho.

First jtag I ever did the nand took like 5 hours to dump then same to flashing back :o as was No usb nand dumping at the time. Used like an old lpt connector things with 7 wires or some things hehe and if ya even moved it slightly it dumped a bad block of the nand So had to restart, my god Im glad those days are over

A bit off topic, but are we able to dump original DS (not 3DS) carts without a flash cart now? I have a bunch of original DS games that I want to just store on EmuNAND.

One things I thought You had to install gba games on sysnand and emunand, just curious why I can play them and Im only install ng to emunand?

I thought you could just dump DS games with a r4 or gateway :/
