Hey Guys,

yesterday I've installed Arm9LH and configured Decrypt9WIP (L_Button Pressed) and AuReiNAND (Default).
Now I want to know if it's possible to boot directly into Homebrewlauncher through Arm9LH by pressing R.
Code:
[KEY_R]
path = /boot.3dsx
screenEnabled = 1
delay = 2000
offset = 0
payload = -1
and
Code:
[KEY_R]
path = /boot.3dsx
screenEnabled = 1
delay = 2000
offset = 0
payload = 1
does not work :(

a9lhax can't load .3dsx format homebrew, but nothing stopping you setting up menuhax as well as a9lhax for loading the hbmenu.

A hint: 3dsx applications execute in arm11 userland. They may have hacky things to reach arm9, but they execute in arm11 userland.

Arm9LoaderHax is, by name, executed in arm9 context. In fact, so early in the arm9 context the devs needed to initialize the screens by hand. At that time, arm11 sandbox is not even initialized. So HBL won't ever run in a9lh context.

If you need HBL on boot, configure menuhax in a9lh sysnand/emunand with a certain key. It won't be instant, but you'll get there.

Any ARM9 homebrews that'll run via Brahma. CFWs and d0k3's *9 tools are the only notable ones I can think of off the top of my head.

And any homebrew that can run as cia.

Edit: I know a9lh can't run cia but at least the homebrew will be on the home menu, thats better than nothing.

    I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

    It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They place married security chips onto boards iirc

    Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

    At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
