I’m installing an RP2040-Zero (WaveShare) into a Nintendo Switch Lite (HDH-001), and I’ve read conflicting info about MOSFETs.
Some guides say MOSFETs are still required, while some modders suggest (gbatemp.XX/threads/picofly-rp2040-gone.670220/post-10642432) you can now wire directly without them — but I can’t find a clear, up-to-date answer.

I've flashed with fw_2.80.uf2 from github.XX/rehius/usk/releases

Specifically:
  • As of today (April 29, 2025), are MOSFETs still needed?
  • If not, which exact point on the CPU/GPU area (see attached image) should GPIO15 on the RP2040-Zero connect to directly?

I'd really appreciate clarification from someone who has done it recently.

Thanks a lot!

Of course mosfets are still needed.
They make the glitch possible by shorting the CPU voltage to the ground for a brief moment.
That draws quite some current, something that a RP2040 alone would not be able to handle.

What that post that you are refering to means is that you can get a flex cable with a mosfet and wire a RP2040 board directly to that flex cable.
This is of course a bit easier compared to bringing your own mosfet and wiring it to the CPU.
Most people use dedicated picofly boards nowadays instead of a barebone RP2040 board.
