Ok..... So I need help.

I am remaking the arcade classic GALAGA.

I want to know how the entire game works from difficulty progression to enemy ai and movement.

Are there any resources that could possibly help me?

Idk if there's a higher-level analysis out there, but you should be able to get every bit of info you need from that if you have the patience.
