This is going to be controversial... but screw it :P

I'm doing a personal opinion writing thing with friends at school. We are stating how Apple is trash. I feel as if I want other's input. So what do all of you think?

That's a very broad category you've set there.

What you seem to have done is categorize preference in operating systems to just "stuff Apple makes" and "everyone else." Also, there doesn't seem to be any clear distinction between operating systems intended for desktops and laptops, and those intended for phones and handsets.

I know the general consensus in your school is that "Apple sucks," but you might've wanted to be a bit more specific here. Focus either on Desktop or Mobile devices when discussing Apple's OSes.

Also, on a side note, OS Wars were actually pretty common here on GBATemp a few years back. I kinda wonder why there aren't more replies to this thread.

That said, when it comes to mobile, I'd say I prefer Android. The OS is based off Linux, open-source, way more customizable with widgets, and has a more open app market, with alternatives like F-Droid being nice for those who prefer to steer clear of Google's own app store. That's not to disparage anyone who prefers iOS, though, which is more geared to casual ease of use than anything else. I'm just not an "ease of use" person.

id go with android and windows because its open source. apple wants simplicity but just makes things less functional. edit: btw i dont want any apple fanbois triggered just some legitimate constructive criticism.

Last edited by aOK,
I actually started out using Android, but then ended up with an iPhone last year as a gift from my friend and I spent well over a year using it. I have to say that I actually really enjoyed the iOS environment and found it far more stable than the Android phones that I had been using. Every app was so tightly integrated with firmware that they all just felt so natural and purposefully tailored to the phone. It was actually a very nice experience and something I was happy to have had used as my main phone for well over a year.
I am actually back to using an Android phone (LG Style 3) and I can still see the appeal to it. Right now I have tons more games (and emulators,) tons unnecessary (but still cool) features, and the customization is fucking intense. At the same time I do experience far more crashes in apps and some other minor issues that I didn't experience with my iPhone. Some of these issues were fixable by me, but it still kind of sucks that they existed in the first place.

I didn't use Windows phone because I refuse to ever use Windows, even on a phone.

windows because its open source
But Windows isn't open source... In fact, macOS uses more open-source packages than Windows does.

Personally, as said before, It's quite unfair to categorise Apple away from everything else. They're all different operating systems with different purposes. Apple isn't that bad at productivity.
