Hacking Anyway to downgrade from 3.56?

question is in the topic, just got a PS3 with a bad disc drive and it's firmware is 3.56 any info is appreciated.
The PS3 is CECHG01 (NAND not NOR) so i belive progskeet is my only option otherwise

Pretty sure you can downgrade it with a hardware flasher, but only to a firmware that came out after the PS3 SKU was released. You can run MinVerChk on the PS3 to check what that limit is but as you have a phat PS3 I don't think it matters.
