Hacking Anyone try to dump 3DS roms?

So people have already extracted 3DS saves using that one DS save tool.

Has anyone tried filing down the edge on a 3DS cart and dumping with a DS slot 2 card or anything?

I havent heard of it yet. But I think it should be possible.
What would you want to do with the rom anyway? Cant really do much at the moment.

We'll know soon enough... I say about 3 days before we see a dump/attempt.

3Ds carts don't fit in a DS or DSL (I think), so that won't work. Besides, 3DS game are very different than DS games, much like DSi games are. A new dumping method will have to come about before we can even think of dumping 3DS ROMs.

I'm not educated on how the homebrew community works but dumping roms might help them understand how the 3DS works better and allow for faster cracking maybe?

If I remember correctly, DS roms were dumped and we coudnt do much with it lol.

They don't NORMALLY fit.

You have to grind the plastic tip off to make it DS cart size(The tip is just pure plastic so it won't damage the hardware)

Joystiq files the plastic tip off and the games still worked fine and fit inside a DS(But the DS didn't recognize the game of course)

Just grind it down and see if a slot 2 card will dump a rom from a DS Lite.

While they may fit, you just said it yourself that the DS doesnt recognize the cart. I doubt any homebrew dumper will be able to recognize it as well. Again, hardware and code wise 3DS carts are very different than DS carts.

With the adapter you can extract saves from 3DS carts.
Not all carts worked so far aparently and they are updating to make it work with all game carts.

It's worth a try using that DS Card save dumper to see if it'll work on 3DS

I'm guessing that it's not gonna work, or that it'll be a LONG while. Probably a USB dumper will come first.

Once roms are created people can more effectively find out how to use them. Leading a flashcart/softmod.

The saves are stored in a different location depending on who you ask.

I wanna say if anyone is trying. Well, if someone can dump a rom, its the begining to understand de 3DS system and get homebrew, right? If its not right, say i'm still learning.
