That appears to be a Walmart. Maybe they got special permission from Sony. If not, they could get into some trouble.

Yeah, I don't think you can purchase it until relesse date anyway.

I don't know. Anything in Walmart in those booths is usually always up for grabs.

I can just imagine: "No sorry sir we can't sell this blatantly finished product sitting right in front of you cause its not released."

Yeah, there's more than one in that photo. If they wanted to just advertise it, they'd use a poster, not actually stock them. I'm in no rush to get mine, though. I'm 46 hours into Conception II, and I don't think I'm anywhere near done with the game.

Chances are the staff can try to ring it up and their sales system will prompt them saying they can't sell it

My Wal-Mart can be pretty strict when it comes to release dates. I've tried getting things early multiple times with no luck.

It goes like this: I goad one of the employees to open the case and get it for me, but as soon as they ring it up, the screen tells them that it's too early to purchase it. It's such a shame!

EDIT: oh duh, Cryingmoose just said that. Cryinggeoflcl

Yea, when i worked at best buy if it wasn't out for release yet or if it was in the process of being removed from our systems, there is literally no way it lets you sell it, the POS register blocks you from doing anything with it.

That's what I like about my country, you can always talk people into selling you good game stuff a couple of days before release. Unless it's something really big, like a new GTA game, maybe. Anyways, the Vita 2000 is out here as well, and can be grabbed relatively freely from a couple of retailers, mainly specialized online videogame shops. Larger retailers seem to have almost no interest in the system, while the PSP was all the rage - the Sony brand is very strong here. Mine is of Japanese origin, though - you can set the language to Russian and it's region-free anyway.
