Any tips for some one looking to get into the IRC

Ok so I have avoided the IRC like the plague for years for very legit reasons, it is horribly insecure the government watches it like a hawk and the list goes on and on. But I got board as hell one day so I thought I would check it out any tips, good servers to use a easy way to spoof my ip out side of a free VPN?

yeah I know about the Temp one but I am looking for a place to talk to some fellow PC hackers mainly the place where I spend most of my time is kinnda slow today for some damned reason.

So you are worried about the government spying on IRC activities and so post on a public forum looking for IRC chatrooms that can give you tools to carry out illegal cyber attacks and shit on people?

no i was just giving that as a example because I already know and talk to said hacker on a regular basis
