MajinBuu, (OMG it's going to sound not good but) yes I think I can do better. now listen I don't want to enter this discussion of games development and Y I think games on the DS can be better, cuz it's very very(!!) long and complicated.
About the AW opinion, I think it's like a miniature game, also I don't see the RPG element, appearntly we have different definitions for that (too). I would like to hear all sorts of stratagies in AW. and from your replys it seems like you do care, and it's not much fine by you.
I would like to show you my designs, I have programed an original abstract stratagy game, the thing is it's not yet registered so as much as I like to show you and share my creation, I wound have to say no ):
apart from that the studies don't leave me free time to program my projects.

I think what the OP is looking for is more along the lines of a squad based tactical RPG. Not like a solid RTS like Age of Empires, but more like, the DS version of MechCommander, Starship Troopers, or to some extent Shattered Galaxy. Where you get to customize your units and head out into battle with equipmen that YOU chose, and then see if you can adapt.

In this case, I'm really have to to recommend Front Mission, keep in mind that is the original SNES version. The fact that its still (IMO) better than a game produced over 17-18 years after its developement (AW:DS), says a lot about it.

That's not to say its perfect. And the menus still tick me off, but here's at least a two reasons why its better than Advance wars:
1)Customization - until Advance wars lets me decide how I want to equip my tanks, soldiers, and choppers its not good enough
2)Variation - the enemies of front mission might act all the same, but at least they look significantly different than my troops

Anyways, that's all just my opinion.

I think Gimmy wants "starcraft DS", or "Command & Conquer DS". I dont know if there are any games like that for the DS, but I have to say I enjoy a lot AW:Days of Ruin

Try Battles of Prince of Persia. It's not bad. And seconding Panzer Tactics DS.

lol i play starcraft alot .. it would be fun to have it on DS.... yeah if you ahvent played starcraft for pc give that a shot .. so much strategy involved.

as for the AW controversy ... play the rest of the game or you know you could buy AW: days of a ruin and play wifi. havin another human player makes things much more interesting, although the computer is pretty dam good itself. of course the first 6 missions were a breeze .. theyre basically tutorials. if not a single person here agrees with u .. that might mean something. anyways if you dont have a router or wifi connector .. they run for about 40 bucks and are well worth it... id go for the wireless router.

Bleach blade of fate .. yea its a fighting game not at all an RTS but there is alot of strategy involved in the fights .. unless ur one of those fags who run and play cheap and dont fight

Command and Destroy should be coming to the DS eventually, in March. It looks like an interesting RTS game, even though it's ported from the GBA and looks like it. Robocalypse on the other hand looks nice but the Action Flag system kinda ticks me off, wonder how that one will turn out.

And to join the AW discussion, I have to agree that the first levels were a breeze, even for me and I'm no good strategy gamer, but after that it got hard

Also I don't kinda get the difference between tactics and strategy :/

This upcoming japanese game looks quite interesting too btw http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1213590_1407.html, to be released in May if I get it right.
