Hacking Any problems with EDGE flashcart?

does the edge consume more power than than the acekard, since they listed the acekard as "low power consumption?"

Uruha- I have an edge ds coming in next week and a DSTT (which apparently is really efficient), I can give you some subjective feedback on that if you would like.

I have two EDGE cards here, no experience with any other cards.

DS-Lite battery life is about HALF THAT of an official Nintendo game cart, but I suspect this is similar with other Slot-1 solutions as well.

Nothing but silky smooth operation to report. Skins are great, Menu is fast, has never failed me yet....

Anyone have problems with the bundled TF reader? It seems flakey and flashes (the LED) for no reason sometimes. DX sells it alone for like $2.85 so it can't be too good at that price.

As long as it does what it's supposed to, and does it well, I'm fine.

You will when the team "supporting" it disappears and you are left with an outdated product.

Thats funny, since any time any team can stop supporting a device, just look at the R4 team, it wasn't a cloned cart. Nothing last forever.

I lurked for about a month on several forums after getting DSs for the whole family. It kinda reminds me of the "Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge" days from high school 30 years ago. I read everything i could find on every card i could find, in the end, i threw most of it out the window.

I am now the proud owner of:
R4-III - apparently a FAKE r4... but you know what, it works GREAT for our 3yo and supports SDHC. I simply set the border for the highlight to black in the menu and used black images for the Media and Slot-2 options... now he turns it on, sees the joystick icon, picks his game from the list by it's icon and leaves me the hell alone about "Put this game in dada!"

Acekard2 - Purchased in July, during the "bad batch" run, still working and currently my favorite, gotta love the menu!

Edge - Funky box... but it's close the the R4, does SDHC, and just works.

Acekard RPG - still waiting on it from Hong Kong, only been about a week, shows shipped at USPS

Gonna try out some of the others as my "hobby budget" allows...

Clone, knockoff, whatever... if it works, it works, me and my family can play Video Games Hero and all our backed up carts and i really dont care who made the card

30 years ago is the late 70s and a gas crunch so all domestics weren't so great. now late 60's early 70's Dodge kicked arse with the HEMI! It even shows with the demand and prices they go for now (million dollar barracuda is a good example)

back on topic though

thought I read the R4-III would/could blow the fuse in the DS, I'd be weary, I still own my original R4 and using it currently and love it, only if it had SDHC, but now when I get my EDGE paired with my EZ 3in1 it will be great, if not I'll probably just get a Cyclo DS

I've been through alot of this forum and cannot find any major issues with the EDGE other than user issues of not knowing how to use it.

The only problem being there's no Cyclo seller here, everybody offers me EDGE, R4, Supercard DS-One, DS-X, and oh God, N5!! WTF??!!

CycloDS was the exact clone of Supercard (Lite... or Rumble? Or standard? I forgot) Supercard team posted pics of CycloDS being a clone just last year

Now, thanks to being a clone, CycloDS EVO is here, with lotsa features and is considered the best right now (in the past it's R4, in the future?

Now, let's hope for the best: EDGE Team actually rip some easy money and actually build EDGE EVO or EDGE+ or something which is a great cart.

Hmm... currently playing Dragon Ball DS using EDGE Flash Card. But found out that sometime I will experience lag during gameplay.
Using Sandisk 4GB Micro SDHC and sometime also experience lag while playing Jump Ultimate Stars. Is this normal?

So far I only found out these 2 games will lag during gameplay.

Jump Ultimate Stars - Lag while 3 or 4 person using ultimate moves or skills that are colorful.
Dragon Ball DS - lag when 2 enemies show on the upper screen.

did anyone managed to run cyclo ds software on edge, if edge is a clone of cyclo ds?

cyclods stores his firmware on a flash chip inside the cartridge, edge is missing this chip so it wont work with cyclods software...
