I heard that ps4 CPU was close to be the same used in modern computer.
So is there any hope for a PS4 emulator anytime soon?
Well, the CPU is not the only thing that matters, we also need to emulate the other hardware, the system's software, and plenty of other stuff, so no, probably not

Don't assume that a (good) PS4 emulator will happen just because the CPU is x86, look at the original xbox as an example.

There are other differences in the hardware and like any emulator it needs people behind it.

I would love to see PS4 emulator come out when PS4 is near end of support or after end of support. I heard new PS5 system come out next year and will allow us to play old PS4 game discs without problems. Same like PS1 to PS2/PS3 again.

But our computers are not powerful enough to run PS4 emulator. But good news, I find on news from internet said Next-generation DDR5 RAM will double the speed of DDR4 in 2018. I can't believe that maybe would able to run PS4 emulator in near future when we buy high-end computer with DDR5 RAM and fastest speed of CPU and GPU (Nvidia or AMD) video card would be awesome to play all games. :)

Oh shit, can't wait for PS5 emulator threads when the PS5 released in 2019.
I don't think Sony will announce the PS5 next year,it's too early for it,maybe 2019.

But buying high end PC just to emulate the PS4 is not good, better buy a real PS4 it will be cheaper.

Yeah sure it will, after Playstation 4 being released, the ps4 emulator is currently under development, according to the author u require a very powerful pc with

2X I7 7700k cpu or i10 15400k or above
Titan XxX gpu with 24gb memory, 48gb raccomanded
64gb ram

Tc, start saving money now :D

Edit: developer has confirmed that from early alpha test, this emu can run tetris at 1080p with 10fps wow

i doubt we will ever see a PS4 emu for a very very long time.

when the likes of PS2 are still in the infancy, PS3 isnt even possible to run anything.

your better off just buying the pc games that are multi platform.

Except the Vita,no one wants to emulate it.
or rather, not enough interests to fully hack the system.

Mind you, molecule team is doing an astonishing job at it with enso henkaku being teased and all.

Once we get a "semi permanent/permanent cfw" for the vita i'd say the system is fully hacked. Even if anything past 3.60 still fails to run.

The Vita was thorougly hacked only last year. That stuff takes time. Look at Citra's current status and the 3ds had its major breakthough on 2015. In order to get an emulator fully functional you need to understand EVERYTHING hardware/software of the device inside and out. So yeah. Jcspsp and PPSSPP only came at the end of life of the psp. And the former was a sluggish mess because it was java based and slow. Now PPSSPP is even better than the real system at times with it being able to upscale and all.

not really its not just about how hacked the system is, take wii u it has an emu and the wii u hasnt really got a fully pledged cfw.

if what ive read is right the wii u is like the vita and has to be booted each time

I edited my post to make it a bit clearer. That's what i really meant.

Give it another 10-20 years maybe. Look at the original XBOX, a 733mhz celeron with a geforce 2 and still no emulator.

There will be one someday. By that time we'll be playing the PS6 or PS7. If you want to play PS4 games then buy a real PS4. Only Nintendo's consoles get emulated before they fade into obscurity.

Yeah, I don't even thing we got a proper emulator for that thing, that could play anything but Halo 1 anyways... and at an abysmal FPS too.

great, already have 1 (i7 7700k) processor, i can easily grab another from the store! (are you sure you didnt' meant 2x i7-6950X )
64 GB of ram, also check.
but why dafuq you need a gpu with that much memory? it doesn't make sense...
