Hey all,

ive pretty much given up on getting a console as im not home much anymore, but i still may get a wii later, but not much consideration as of yet.

anyway since im always out working or at college, ive decided im going all handheld, and so far im getting the ds lite to replace my old grey ds, and i already have a pocket pc for emulation and movies, so i was thinking of complimenting the other 2 handhelds with a psp.

how i dont intend on using the psp for emulation due to the fact my pocket pc plays everything in the past i actually like to play. So i was wondering what good adventure games, action games, rpg's and maby some childish mario kart like racing games for the psp you guys could reccomend.

i heard sonic rivals is a good game, and im defenitely getting tales of eternia 2, and the jap version of tales of phantasia, but im curious of some good titles. also im pretty much done with flash cards and such, so since im buying all of my games perhaps some really good reccomendations of good long lasting replayable games

.

ty guys, psp hasnt really been my scene, but madden 2007 with wifi for the psp will be a great second option that will compliment games such as mario kart with wifi for the ds.

1 last thing. IN the event i ever did want to emulate anything on the psp, have they found a way to downgrade firmware with one psp, or should i just say screw it and stick with my pocket pc lol.

ty for the help

edit: also if i get the standard core package for $200 will it come with any amount of memory for me to save games?? or am i danged to have to buy a memory stick which i dont mind anyway, just curious.

Some PSP titles I like are:
Lumines
Lumines II
X-Men Legends II
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (has great replayability)
Gradius Collection

PSP graphics are very nice compared with the NDS, but it's generally easier to find NDS games that are fun to play than PSP games.

Besides that nifty looking game where you control a blob around different levels by tilting the game world using the shoulder buttons, I honestly can't reccomend any other titles.

sonic rivals suck, wats with the racing in every stage.
Metal Gear portable ops look promising
the gta titles are good games to fall back on
outrun and syphon filter are also nice.

Lumines series-Puzzle
MGA2-Cardbase strategy
Daxter-adventure
Metal gear Solid Ops looks like its shaping up nicley.-action
GTA series if you really like em- Free roam
Juiced eleminator-Cars
Socom FTB2 (Amazing in my opinion, music is awsome)-online/shooting

these games were all self played and i enjoyed all of em!... with my FW 1.5

teheeee

Im hooked on Marvel Alliance at the moment, great fun...Ditto for X-Men Legends 2. I just picked up Dungeon Seige it looks great so far but I havent gotten far into it. Lumines and Lumines 2 are both great. Things were slow for a while but there are plenty of good games on the psp now.

i think i saw a star wars battlefront 2 for psp as well with wifi, do any of the shooters have wifi? and if so are they any good?

not a big fan of shooters, but i love adventure, action and rpg

how are the megaman games for the psp they looked 3dish, but kind of cool.

the daxter game looks sweet as well, and marvel ultimate alliance has too look pretty good on the psp.

any good long square like rpg's for the psp, or anything worth playing??

legend of heroes looks like a cool game, and ill have to check the screens for dungeion siege

also if i get the standard core pack will i get any save memory or will i have to buy another memory stick?

ty guys

Every Extend Extra
that Katamari Damacy game for the PSP
Loco Roco
WTF

and only up to firmware 2.71 can be downgraded right now, from last time I checked... well, it would actually be better to get a modified v2.71FW. BTW I think you should use your PSP for emulation soley for Noiz2sa and Squarez, which are friggin awesome! Beatmania and Stepmania was good on there when I tried it but its been almost a year since I last owned a PSP.

My PSP collection consists of:

GTA: Vice City Stories
GTA: Liberty City Stories
LocoRoco
Wipeout Pure
Tekken: Dark Resurrection
Burnout Legends
Ridge Racer

I'd recommend any of them, they're all great portable fun

Every Extend Extra

Action games
Syphon Filter (better than PS2's Omega Strain)
SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 1&2
Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories
Gangs of London
Medal of Honor Heroes
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception

Very nice list VVoltz!!

I'm gonna bookmark this just in case I do get a PSP anytime soon.

Though I think the DS has a better game library, though the PSP does come close. Not to mention I hate sports games. >_>

Edit: I love the revision!

Thank you, thats what i was looking for
biggrin.gif

and DANG power stone was my favorite dreamcast game, i hope thats the same powerstone mentioned. defenitely going to look into alot of them.

ty all for the great suggestions, i just feel like more of a hanheld gamer nowadays, and i wanna be stacked with em lol. everyone keeps saying to just stay with one portable, but they both have too many cool games, and in order to play them all it requires both

Powerstone isnt just the original one from the dreamcast, its Powerstone Collection with Powerstone 1&2 plus a ton of extras, its supports game sharing so you can do up to 4 players with one umd, there are also new weapons and items, better camera control and tons of unlockables. Oh and my favorite feature is that the powerstone 2 characters are now playable in Powerstone 1 and vise versa. It plays very well too, crisp graphics and very fast. Now if treasure would just make a PSP game....(Ikaruga portable?)

i dont wanna be a spoiler but.... maybe look in here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=36582&st=0
Might be a good look.... i guess

yes ty, i noticed that, but i was looking for an organized list such as the one that vvoltz gave in which case i am very thankful for. alot of cool games i never noticed ive only seen advertisements for psp with shooters and racing games, so i never noticed anything i really liked, but it seems they got some great adventure and rpg games, they should start advertiseing them and perhaps make some more of em lol

Well, haven't had my PSP for very long (just two months) and VVoltz has pretty much listed the titles I enjoyed but here you go
tongue.gif

Action Puzzle

Every Extend Extra
Great visuals, boss fights and chain explosions.
5xh3.jpg

Exit
Help the trapped people out of the buildings! Stylish colour schemes and cheezy but fun voice effects.
3rj5.jpg

Me and My Katamari
Wacky, relaxing game with colourful visuals where you roll up everything.
2sn8.jpg

Beat-em-up

Tekken: Dark Resurrection
It's Tekken 5 with extra characters and modes including downloadable Ghost player data so that you're always fighting against different fighting patterns.
37ud4.jpg

Racing

Ridge Racer 1 and 2
Good visuals and nitro burning fun.
ridgeracer2screenshotyx7.jpg

Rhythm

DJMax Portable International Version
Ouendan for the PSP. Korean Beat Mania style game with Anime style music videos playing in the background while you hit the buttons. VERY challenging rhythm game with tonnes of unlockables. Doubt anyone's playing on 8 button mode. A DJMax Portable 2 is coming out this winter

Gundam Battle Royale (JP)
Fast paced sci-fi action with the popular Japanese Gundam series.

Guide a singing blob through levels by tilting the PSP with the L and R buttons.
