On composite I get a kind of white image. Those aren't camera artifacts, it's just how the image is displayed on the tv.
Remote can't be synced.
The cap on the composite has been replaced and nothing changed.
The BT module was bad, but it was replaced with a known working one. The wifi module has been tested in another console.
All the voltages are present on the inductors.
Tested for priiloader and bootmii and they aren't installed.

What could cause that white weird screen?
Does bootmii requires the BT and wifi modules?

It's not the caps, Like I've said, the cap has been replaced. I'm using composite.
Yeah I read, I was not sure which caps you replaced that was all.

Hmm... this sounds almost like you should check with "Rare Gaming Dump". They've more or less reversed the whole Wii system front and back.

You can check in their Discord. They're extremely knowledgable about the Wii.

Thank you. I will try my luck there. I have never seen that white weird screen. At first I hoped to be a bad cap and a full brick. And since that's not the case i'm 100% lost.

Same, never seen a Wii display like that before. It's either fully White or fully Black. Never seen it like this before. Please post here if you get it solved as well so it's archived :)

I know it's a stupidly simple question, but have you tried changing cables ?
With multi function failing, maybe more than just 1 cable.

Did it produce any sounds ?

Being in B&W also indicates PAL/NTSC conflicts (my 1st thoughts).
Also, the trapezoid is very poor.

Oops, I meant "keystone". These days are rarely indicated, unless you have projector or the like.

BTW - I also left out the other 2 senses on detecting IC/component faults. They are touch (for heat) & smell (for over-heating/burning components).

A dying GPU sounds like a good/accurate enough analysis. But, you have more than one failing issue :( ... And, you sound like die-hard tech. Just have to solve it !! ;)

It's not the cable or tv. other wii consoles are working fine with those.
I'll leave it as it is until someone with more experience encounters the same problem and finds the issue.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
