I fixed the DS. My cuzin came to my house with his battery and he gave me his battery and I put his battery in my DS and now it charges. For some reason I took my old battery out and gave it to him and he put it in his DS and it charges on his DS.

To the OP it sounds like it could be the L2 power inductor. Doing a quick Google it looks to be a 33uH. Try replacing it and seeing if that works.

To tell you the truth I have a mobo doing the same thing and an other one where the mic got wet and fried. So I am going to harvest the L2 inductor off the blown mic one and transplant it to the other one. I'll post back in a few days once I get it done and let you know how is works out.

See pic below for L2 location:

Sorry should point out that (if not obvious) that it needs to be SM (surface mount) 33uH inductor.

... i kind of fixed it just wont charge it does turn on but it doesnt charge. (full stop)

Stevebenz,

It sounds like the "F2" fuse is blown, you'll need to replace it or bridge it. I recommend replacing it. See the pic below for F1 and F2 fuse locations;

If replacing or bridging the F2 fuse does not fix your problem then try the F1 fuse.

I hope this helps

ok... how do i replace it or bridge it?

P.S. im a newbie and is to scared to open my ds cuz i only have one DS

2nd P.S. i have a one of those fat DS and im using a ds lite would the fat ds come in handy?

-Thanks

To fix the fuse(s) you'll have to open your DS, this should help;

http://www.m3wiki.com/index.php/Nintendo_D...le_(blown_fuse)

You`ll need a tri-wing screwdriver, I find a good place to get the screwdriver is dealextreme (google it not sure if I can link to it) they are cheap but very slow most times. You`ll want to get sku.2905 it has both the Triwing x50, Cross x50 screwdrivers that you`ll need to open your DS.

Also you`ll need a soldering iron and solder (1mm or .5mm) if your going to bridge the fuse. The guide says to use a small peace of wire (not need) just lay a small amount of solder over top of the fuse covering both ends. Hpw ever I would recommend replacing the fuse and not bridging it. (your call)

Be very careful when taking the DS apart and putting it back together so that you don`t brake the power switch. for the price of a replacement one from dealextreme it would not hurt to buy one or two to have on hand (sku.15610).

If your to "scared" to open your DS it would not hurt to ask around where you are and see if any one there can do it. (may have to pay for the service)

Let me know if you have any other questions, and good luck.

Hell not sure what was going on but for like a few weeks MP3's sounded muffled, some driver or Windows update fixed it. Thank god lol

Oh boy Massdrop has $1100 IEMs. Want, but not at that price lmao. https://drop.com/buy/campfire-audio-andromeda-emerald-sea-iem

I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs

I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro

I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200

My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol

    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds

I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection

    how is wireless charging possible?

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
