this has likely been asked already....but does the multi menu also allow the loading of regular NDS games....or just 3DS? If not, I assume using a regular R4i card will still work fine for the DS games until this is added later

Multi-rom does not work with DS games. An R4i will work, but every time you play a DS game you will uninstall the exploit and have to run the Gateway installer again.

Why R? Where did people discover this unmentioned function?

I discovered it on my own just messing around when i first couldn't get my card to update, when i booted that way tho my card updated, i also had three other friends update the same way.

1. Don't trim the ROM.
2. Use the ROM of the same region as your 3DS (in your case, it must be American).

Can anyone help me? I'm having some trouble updating my gateway 3ds card.
I manage to get to the gateway menu but I cant seem to get into gateway mode as it gives me the error message (above) while trying to update.
I do believe my gateway is an official card and I haven't had any problems before.
Any help would be appreciated.

A person is saying that you should hold the R button when entering to DS Profile. I don't think it will work but you can give it a try.

Try it your self it goes right into the option to update your card there no mystery surrounding it, you can also still choose to not update and just turn off your 3ds, it wont hurt anything i guess i could make a useless video, give me a few minutes.

All you guys having trouble updating your cards, when booting up the exploit try holding R instead of L it will bring right to the update card option and people seem to have a lot of success doing it that way when the other way failed.

Thanks for the tip but sorry to say that it didn't work. It indeed brings you immediately into the update section but same problem ( ERROR! PRESS [A] TO EXIT)

Thank you but it simple auto loads the update which leads to the same problem. I've tried many different things now, yet I still cant get this to update. I will probably have to wait for an update from gateway. Ive also found a few other people experiencing the same issue so it should become more known when the public release is available.
