I tried a retro styled platformer a couple of months back (Karl's Tiny Adventure) but the result wasn't all that great, mostly due to me trying too hard to get touchscreen controls to work with a retro styled platformer.

I vowed never to attempt it again.
This week, I've attempted it again!
And, if I'm honest, it's a heck of a lot better.

NeonPlat Raw
The game has been built up with touchscreens in mind, so has two large ominous blocks in the bottom corners!
In the left box, you move left and right, and in the right box you've got two buttons for jump and throw.
The gameplay is pretty simple. Grab a ball, throw it at a bad guy, capture the bad guy, smash the bad guy..
Simply rinse and repeat until you're dead.
It does indeed get a little bit crazy!

You can either Download NeonPlat Raw here from my Archive, or alternatively get it straight from Google Play, here

Let me know what you think of the controls.

This week's game is not free.
I've decided to attempt to peddle a few of my warez, in the hopes that I can get the tiniest amount of support, whilst working my arse off, trying to create a brand new game every single week.

Seems only reasonable, to be honest.

The last time I attempted to post about a Pay-For game on this forum, however, the topic was locked, moderated, closed, watched, analysed and destroyed by the "One Rule : NO SALES!" GBATemp staffers.
Fair play to them. That's the rule. I shan't argue.
So, this week, even though I've made a cracking game for Android, and you'll probably love it, I won't be telling you about it.

Even though I'm broke, penniless and struggling, have been out of work for over a year and a half, and have single handedly given you 19 other, entirely free games over the past 6 months, I won't dare to advertise something which might help me survive.
Because THAT'S EVIL!!!!
HOW DARE I!!!

So, for the most part, you can assume there's no new game this week.
..
In the meantime, if you've a Nintendo DS system that's capable of playing DS Homebrew games, head over to the following thread, and see if you can help me out.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/requesting-ds-homebrew-testing.350493/

I'm planning a nice big lengthy game to build over the course of July. It'll be done using both Monkey, and DevKitPro, simultaneously, so the end result will be playable on Windows, Android and even DS Homebrew.
I'd like a few test runs of old games, before I attempt anything, though, and so far the topic's been more than a little bit fruitless... Which sucks..

This week's game is a fun little arena shooter type thing, but with limited ammo.
Guide the ball around the arena, collecting Mines along the way.
Double-tap to drop a mine, then run/roll away before it blows your face off. (Do balls have faces!?)

The game's simple enough, and should keep you playing for a few minutes, but it's nothing amazing. .. I've done better!
It's also quite badly optimised, too, so apologies if it runs badly on your device!

You can Download DangerBots here, or directly from Google Play here

Spiders vs Toothpicks!
A nice simple Arena Battler where you have to kill as many spiders as you can, in just a minute, using only the toothpicks provided!

(Note : Since this game has a teensy smidgen of blood in it, I had to up the maturity level on my game!! OMG!!WTF!?!)

You can Download Spiders vs Toothpicks here from my Archive, or alternatively, grab it from GooglePlay here

Another "Pay for" week, this week, so I won't be linking incase I get bombarded by moderators, wanting to punish me for daring to give away a huge number of games for free, then wanting to make a little cash back in return for all the nice things I've done.

Evil Me!!
RAWR!!

This week's game, if you care, is one of those "Simon" type games, where it pushes the buttons, and then you have to repeat the sequence.
Nothing major, so you're not missing much.
If you feel you are missing it, you'll have to hunt for it.

Finally, a new Puzzobomb Game!!
But if you're looking for a multitude of levels, you're looking in the wrong place.
Instead, this new "mode" is a simple match-3 style affair.
The blocks drop from the top, and you need to shuffle them around to match them up.

There are occasional bomb blocks.. Hold them down to detonate!

You can Download Puzzobomb Endless here, or grab it from GooglePlay

This week, Twitterer @GameProducer asked if anyone was working on a One Dimensional game.
.. I sure wasn't.
.. So I did..

This is the result. A game with only one dimension.
You can move left or right.
Collect all the coins.
Avoid the evil red sticks of doom.
and if you see a bullet, turn your back so your trusty shield will block it.

Simple, but strangely effective.

You can Download OneDee here or get it straight from GooglePlay here

This week's game was quickly cobbled together over the space of 24 hours. I've been far too focused on another project, this week. I was hoping to have it finished for today, but unfortunately it started getting bigger.. And bigger... And BIGGER!!!!
So, instead, I spent a day bundling this little thing together, and it's kinda fun.
Maybe it's more fun than I think it is, but compared to the other project, this game isn't really up to scratch.

It's a simple Snake sort of game, but with random walls popping up along the way.
Try not to trap yourself, and grab as many of the green blocks as you can.

You can Download Blockaid here, or directly from GooglePlay

.. BlastTrax is coming on Aug 27th.. And it's a doozy!!

Variasaurs is this week's silly little plaything.
If you played the classic board game MasterMind, the logic game with the coloured pegs, you'll be familiar with this one.
Try to guess the costume that Idigidragon wants to wear, by using the subtle clues of his coloured pegs.
You can Download Variasaurs here, or directly from GooglePlay

This week's game is another Pay-For game. Sorry that that's the case, but it is.
Quite frankly, this is one of my biggest games in a long while, and it has a lot of expandability, so I wanted to ensure people actually paid for the thing, if I was going to work away bulking it up, over the coming weeks/months.
It's a lovely little game, and I'm PRETTY darn sure you guys will love the heck out of it.

But as per GBATemp rules, it's wrong, evil, nasty and terrible to go spamming about pay-for things (free advertising = Spawn of the devil!) I shan't be linking to it.
That's a shame.

In addition, I think I might be taking most of September off from AGameAWeek. It's good to have a breather every now and then, and this week's game has been an insane amount of work, so it feels like a good time to take a bit of a rest.
So, um.. yeah! See you on the other side, everybody!
