Hello!

I installed this from Reddit:
kerm64, android_q_build_january_18th_2021update_1 (i cannot post links)

Everything works and the instructions are clear.
First i tried Android 8.1 i found instructions but it was a disaster. This one is up to date with Hekate and the Android 10 build :)
It works perfectly.

I tried a few times with various builds yesterday and when rebooting using via Hekate/More Options/SwitchRoot Android I just get a black screen.

Googled around but no suggestions seem to work.

Official builds dropped B-) I haven't messed with any Android 10 builds yet, so am looking forward to trying this out when I have a chance to set my SD card all up again for it.

Probably worth a new discussion thread tbh

Absolutely awesome . It does deserves a release thread, its been a long time coming. Xda will probably have something.

From glancing at the discord, it sounds like they're waiting for a new hekate release, which will make installation easier, before they publish a new setup guide. So be worth waiting for that before making a new thread here. If the switchroot crew want to make an official thread that would be awesome, but if they're sticking to xda I'm sure someone will do the honours here.

it's released (and so is a new Hekate). And the TV build DOESN'T look promising, seeing as how the Shield games don't work :(
Awesome news. I'll have to check it out soon. The previous version worked well for me, but having to pair the JoyCons every time (and them not working wired) was a hassle and no analog support meant many games were not great to play. Good enough to play Paper Mario TTYD on though :)

Ignorance at its finest. Your logic is any device running Android TV should support shield games. It is called ANDROID TV, it is not called hey turn your Nintendo Switch into an Nvidia Shield TV
Talk about ignorance. First off, I was just relaying information. Second, you don't have a damn clue what my logic is. Third, the last release had an installer to "shieldify" the switch. So good, in fact, that my Google account thinks I own a shield. So for the people who want that, they will be disappointed with this build.
For all others, the tablet version is recommended, mkay?

Obviously you have to use your own damn brain and maybe choose the tv build, if you spend most of your time docked anyway.

I think what he's trying to say it that the TV build IS promising for many things. You shouldn't discredit it just because it doesn't play a handful of Shield TV games.

I haven't had time to test it, but does it play any other game like you would expect? Honestly, the only Android games I own are for a phone back in the Galaxy S II days. Like R-Type. If you can grab emulators and such from the play store and they work, then it's a non-issue for me, personally.

overclocking above the already available performance mode will not be available without a custom kernel. You can go to 1750mhz (1.75ghz) and the base clock seems to be 1400mhz currently on latest builds.
My custom kernel has 2091mhz (2.09ghz) and thats the highest I push my switch on android. It helps a lot with emulation, especially with GC.
and with custom patches you dont have to edit anything once you flash it. I even have the boot.img rmagisk patched before I even boot. All during the building process
I’m too want 2ghz on 10 android because 1,7ghz not enough even for ppsspp emulator
Rom on sandisk extreme pro 170/90 read/write really smooth no stacks only performance in emulation bad needs 2ghz cpu the cooling fan is available so cpu don’t burn and not throttling like in smartphone

Nice, does Super Mario Galaxy runs better than with Dolphin?

Which Dolphin build and settings do you recommend for best performance ?

Thx

Some WII games like Galaxy probably will never run full speed with all features. Some WII games have cheats to make them run in 30fps or 20fps, but sometimes these make the games run half speed anyways.
I recommend latest dolphin official. OFC you will not get full speed by just playing the games. You have to tweak every since game setting to get them running well. I am testing a private dolphin version so no I cant give you my settings.
