I've just set mine up and it works well so far with the SummerCart64 but I am wondering if anyone knows how the other cores will be loaded?

I have the analogue pocket as well and that one can do openFPGA but I don't know if that was a release-day feature or if it took a while to come out.

Just wondering if there's anywhere i should be paying attention to see the development of these tools.

Analogue has said that OpenFPGA will not be coming to the 3D, at all. Maybe there will be a custom firmware that allows more cores to run, but that's up in the air at this point.

oh this is because of the lack of a secondary fpga chip right?

Nope, the FPGA chip is like three times the size as both chips in the Pocket combined. They likely just don't want it to compete with the Pocket to ensure those will also continue to sell. Plus the 3D is strong enough to likely be able to handle up to the Saturn, so allowing openFPGA on it would also make it harder to sell stuff like a PSX clone.

Why would you buy the Analogue version of the Playstation or Saturn if they opened this one up to play those games too?

yeah makes sense. I personally don't have a reason to but I can see why it would cannibalize their sales. Hopefully someone figures out a CFW that allows for loading games from the SD card.
