Hardware Analog stick

Recently my 3ds XL fell on the ground (long story, don't ask) but never gave problems. Today the pad started to act strangely. I opened it (warranty was already void) and I found that the little plastic cap that secures the pad's ribbon cable broke. Is there a way I can repair it? Maybe soldering the pad's cable to the connector?

Is there the same exact connector on a lite or maybe a connector from the xl itself that controls a non vital part? Maybe I can take the plastic from that
