Hi fellas, sry for my bad english.
So i just bought old 3DS XL from my friend for very cheap, he said there is error "An error has occurred forcing the software to close" sometimes while playing games.
And... how I can fix it? This is not SD card fault because error show up even on face raiders.
With and without CFW, with and without SD card.
Is there anything I can do? :(

Im using official one!
Oh, I see. You're using Luma3DS-3GX v10.2.1 fork by [ Nanquitas , mariohackandglitch / PabloMK7 ] .

What I meant is, does the "An error has occurred forcing the software to close" happens on the Luma3DS v10.2.1 official branch by [ LumaTeam , TusXH , Aurora] ?

oh... it was the wrong one :shy: weird...
now its luma3ds v10.2.1
but this didnt help, still errors.
Repair the 3DS firmware + custom firmware with CTRTransfer (Type D9) - CTRTransfer. Carefully read and follow the Instructions.

Don't use the ( ) Disable Arm11 exception handlers, as in don't select that option with the (x).

Unless you have certain game mods, plugins, cheats, or patches that must have that turned on, the average 3DS homebrew user should leave it alone.

That feature can cause a slew of problems that are hard to pinpoint and troubleshoot such as corrupting the Nintendo 3DS folder's database files (title.db & import.db), compounding instabilities that can softbrick the 3DS firmware, and general playability for vanilla(-ish) games.

0004000000137F00 is the TitleID for New Super Mario Bros 2 - Special Edition (EUR).

Does your o3DSXL's region firmware happens to be matching EUR?
  • System Settings → Look for the Sys 11.14.0-46E
Some out-of-region games will crash and may need the help of luma's Locale Emulation.

Do you have [ another / spare / second ] (micro)SD card?

Yes, my system is E in system settings.
I have small 2GB SD card but the one i used (64gb) is brand new and errors occur even without sd card inside 3Ds.

Build a test setup on the 2 GB SD card. Set aside the 64 GB card. Do not use anything from the larger card.
  1. Copy everything off the 2GB SD card to a computer.
  2. Quadruple reformat. For cards smaller than 4 GB, select 16 KB (16384) as the cluster size.
  3. Full Write + Verify the empty card in H2testw. Do not skip.
    • Make sure the card is [GOOD]. Do not use it if result comes back as [BAD].
    • h2testw_menu-png.210567
      h2testw_results-png.210862
  4. Delete the *.h2w test files. Download and add these onto the SD card.
Root of the SD card, sdmc:/
  • 3ds/
    • FBI.3dsx
  • luma/
    • payloads/
      • GodMode9.firm
  • boot.3dsx
  • boot.firm
5. Download a .3DS clean rom dump of New Super Mario Bros 2 (EUR). Add the .3DS rom somewhere on the SD card.
6. Insert the SD card to the o3DSXL. Turn on the system → hold (SELECT) → Luma3DS v10.2.1 configuration. Use these exact settings. Press (START) to save.
  • luma3ds_v10-1-3-png.214219
  • Do not enable or mark (x) for any other options than the one shown in the image.
7. Restart the system → hold (START) → Luma3DS chainloaderGodMode9

8. Convert NSMB2 (EUR) to a *.cia, and delete the *.3ds to free up space.
9. Press (START) to exit → HOME Menu. Rosalina menu inject Homebrew Launcher to a system title. Install the game.
10. Press (HOME) button → ☒ CloseHOME MenuNew Super Mario Bros. 2Open.
Play the game. Does the o3DSXL crashes?

Yes, o3DSXL crashes.
Your o3DSXL resembles these past cases.
I believe this presumed to be hardware fault is due to worn out RAM on the motherboard. The 3DS firmware crashes when writing to and reading from memory addresses that can no longer store the proper byte values.

Where to go from here?
  • (1) Buy a replacement o3DSXL motherboard to swap out. Look on Aliexpress, eBay, Amazon, and ZedLabz to name a few online retailers.
  • (2) Sell that o3DSXL to someone else who wants it to gut for spare parts or as-is.
  • (3) Buy another 2DS/3DS system.
  • (4) If money is tight, play 3DS games on Citra emulator.
