Update
Amiibo Touch and Play is out now (April, 30) as a free update for amiibo users to use and play, but what's so good about it? It's okay.. ish.
So here's the good and bad of this amiibo app.
Pros:
  1. You only get to play demos but they have unlimited usage.
  2. You can choose from 9 sequences to play at any given time, simply tap it.
  3. You have three minutes to play each and every scene.
  4. Once the amiibo is registered you're eligible to use it to play, if you want to edit/remove you're free to do so.
  5. Picture quality and audio quality sound fantastic!
Cons:
  1. It's just demos and no actual full games.
  2. You cannot use the Wii U Pro Controller.

So, this is my experience with Amiibo Touch and Play it's a mixed-bag to say the least.

So I have 4 opened amiibos, I can play 4 demos for 10 mins a piece, then I cant play that demo again? or?

Eurogamer had me believe the demos would be locked out but as it turns out they have unlimited usage.. I remember when I used to play PS2 demo discs and those were timed meaning that they'd always take me back to the main menu of the disc. This is kinda the same thing. :P

My opinion of it from the main post above:

Pros:

  2. You can choose from 9 sequences to play at any given time, simply tap it.
  3. You have three minutes to play each and every scene.

I enjoy it. It's not going to make me buy more Amiibos or Virtual Console games, but what's the harm in having it around? It's like those demos in SSB Brawl, but with more playtime, demos, and scenes to play. 8.5/10 just for the fact that it doesn't cost me anything (already had the Amiibos), and it's not taking up too much space on my hard drive (150mb)

This is the weirdest and dare I say fucked up thing ever.

It's cool as hell, don't get me wrong. ESPECIALLY when you get more out of the game by attempting to "speed run" the demos(i.e. seeing how far you can get in three minutes in Mario Bros, seeing if you can clear an F-Zero race in that time, etc)

But, I have NO idea what Nintendo is smoking over there, but I REALLY could use some. With their decisions as of late at Nintendo of America(i.e. NOT bringing the smaller N3DS over here for starters), I thought they must be on something. After playing around with this game and having a decent collection of Amiibos and the game choices I got with mine, now I know for SURE that they are.

Here's what I got:

Bowser(Mario Party): Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
Mario(Smash Bros): Legend of Zelda
Little Mac(Smash Bros): Kirby Super Star
Captain Falcon(Smash Bros): F-Zero
Shulk(Smash Bros): Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Megaman(Smash Bros): Kirby's Dream Course
Kirby(Smash Bros): Dr. Mario
Zelda(Smash Bros): Balloon Fight
Pikachu(Smash Bros): Punch-Out!
Ike(Smash Bros): Wrecking Crew
Luigi(Smash Bros): Super Mario Bros
Sonic(Smash Bros): Kirby's Adventure

Out of all of those Amiibos, only TWO of them had their proper games. TWO...OF...THEM....

I know it was supposed to be randomized, but this is just insane. I thought it was supposed to be three games per Amiibo, but I guessed it changed.

Not complaining at all. I'm just weirded out by the choices that my Amiibos came up with in the game. You'd give Little Mac a Kirby game, but you give Pikachu Punch-Out!? Someone was toking on some of that Alabama Kush at that factory.....

I don't really see the point if this app, especially if you have these games via virtual console or emulation. I also don't see the harm of this app. With that said, I have no interest in downloading this app.

As pointless as this app may be it proved what someone said about the PAL VC copy of Kirby Adventure (NES), it is indeed filled with issues that could very well make it unplayable (for some).

It's only £1.74 right now but after trying it out I lost the interest, but had it ran flawlessly I'd totally pick it up. Nah, I'd rather play it via an emulator for a better experience that and Splatoon's coming out later this month plus next one's Yoshi's.
