I installed Haxchi and it works just fine. What I do is hold down the B button and it takes me to the system menu and I can play any game I want. If i do not press B however, it takes me to the homebrew launcher, but if i go to the home menu and launch a game, then it won't work.

Am I using it the wrong way? I don't want to hold down B to play my games, but I edited the config file and it still takes me to the HBL if i dont press B. Am I putting my console at any risk?

It depends on how the config.txt looks when you install Haxchi.

Here is an example:
a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
b=wiiu/apps/wupinstaller/wupinstaller.elf
default=sysmenu

So if you hold A, it will launch Homebrew Launhcer.
If you hold B, it will start wupinstaller.
If you don't press anything, it will return to sysmenu with Haxchi enabled.

You have to rerun the haxchi installer after you change that file.
