There has to be ALL 12 themes, thats what went wrong last time I screwd it but now its okay just make sure.

Yeah I have the same thing with my R4. It happens when you upgrade the firmware. Not really sure how to change the themes since I cannot see any themes folders or any .bmp's that look like the current theme on my micro SD card.

Has anybody been able to change their theme?

I changed my themes just the other day. It's not that hard. They are in the _system_ folder.

Not sure why you are having problems.

It doesn't go to manual mode if you press select again? It should start in automatic mode (which changes themes every month for their calendar themes), then cycle through the themes you have on the card in manual mode.

Thanks for the help guys I am half way there. I deleted the _DS_MENU.SYS and now when I hit select it says:

           Theme select
           Automatic Mode
            THEME02
             [OK(A)]

Any ideas what that is all about? The theme doesn't change, just gives me that message.

You hit A when you get that. And just keep on doing that to keep on scrolling through all your themes.

Yes. Do what everyone told you and you should be good. The Select button and the A button are the two keys to use to navigate through your themes.

Personally, I run it in automatic and have 12 themes setup in it. A new surprise every month.

Nifty little tool named Skin R4. It can browse zip files and let you set which theme you want relatively easy without any hassle. Sorry if its a bit late but I just wanted to share this nice tool.

Can't remember where I found it so don't ask me about the details.
