Apple has indirectly stated in a rather lame press conference surrounding the iPad 5 and the iPad Minix that the next iPhone will require "A constant internet connection." As well as an "Endless supply of power."
Some users commented directly on Apple's page presenting some information to attempt to counter the soon-to-come always-online phone.

Apple directly responded to concerned users about battery with solutions such as 3rd party RavPower's battery pack and other super compactors. During this response, Apple confirmed that turning off your phone is against worldwide code of terms.
