Hacking Homebrew Alundra (on PSP) game help

For anyone that has played Alundra...

What is the significance of the gilded falcons; specifically, getting all 50 of them?

Secondly, I have read that some falcons are only available in dream sequences. If these are missed does that mean you miss the falcons for good?

I am only going off of memory, but I believe they give you skills of some sort, or maybe a Sword if you get all 50. I also think you can go back and get any that you miss. I dont remember tho. =P
