depends what skin you're using

the artist(person who made the skin) chooses where he wants the start menu

like for instance default skin start menu is on the top right corner

when I make skins I like the menu on the bottom left.

if you want to fix this you could download the skin making tool and put the menu where you want. =]

you can also change that

go to the official acekard homepage> skin> make > A Skin Editor from Dan Taylor

I'd link you but I don't know if I'm allowed to =[

On AK Edit the bar is aligned perfectly. Also you cannot change the vertical position of the bar only the horizontal.

I am talking about the bar that highlights which option you are on when you open the start menu.

perfectly fine to link to http://www.acekard.com/ and AK Edit is on MediaFire: http://www.mediafire.com/?kwtjajw353t
Problem is, AK Edit has some serious problems with alignment, at least under AKAIO and Wood. I don't think I've ever used the official AceKard menu.

Here's a run down of what each value under [start menu] changes for anyone who's interested:
x = Distance of Start Menu from Left Edge of the Screen.
y = Distance of Start Menu from Top Edge of the Screen.
itemX = Distance of Text from Left Edge of the Start Menu.
itemY = Distance of Text from Top Edge of the Start Menu.
itemHeight = Spacing between Start Menu options.
itemWidth = Width of Selection Bar.
barLeft = Distance of Selection Bar from Left Edge of the Start Menu.
