Hacking AKAIO 1.6 not recognizing savefiles

i've been trying to get this .sav file i've had on my original firmware ak2i and it won't read it on akaio (it wont recognize a cheat.db file, either)

Backup all files and format with panasonic formatter

The saves need renaming, from *.nds.sav to *.sav

If "copy files to the MicroSD card" is 'jump[ing] through a bunch of hoops', I think bitching about flashcarts is the least of your troubles.
