glad you'd be happy to test.
as mentioned before. we don't have the equipment so we're not putting anything in.

coding blindly isn't fun.

and regarding the "i am newb"

read the readme. it mentions the akloader folder.
if you have the flash cart, we assume you're mature enough to try and do things for yourself.

But does it make it faster by adding the official firmwares loader (ak4menu.nds) in the ak2loader folder? I just put it in but I don't see a difference ? I also thought there was an option to change loaders ..

Select which loader, to launch a rom with, in the rom info window.

BTW: It was in the readme:
QUOTE+ (AK2) Alternate loader support, place loader(s) in "__aio/ak2loader/"
- ROM options window, select the AK2 loader to use to launch ROM

I knew I saw it somewhere .. I just forgot where.

But does it make it faster!?!!?!?! Like is there a speed difference?

I can't figure out how to use the loader, I've been tinkering with it for a while, and I've got nothing.

My theory on the loader is, it's used to fix some games (Similar to POPSLoader)

For example, Pocket Monsters Diamond/Pearl was able to connect to the GBA games without patching on the latest official firmware. However, AIO doesn't.
So, using the "akmenu411" would fix this, right?

...Can someone tell me how to select the loader? I've gone into the info window, and I saw nothing.

Edit: ...It's right in the name. It's only for AK2's, right? I have an AKRPG

I don't know about AK RPG but I have AK2 so I'll tell you what I do for AK2. Put the ak4menu.nds that came with the official firmware in the ak2loader folder in _aio. Then press Y on the game you want to choose and press Y, and then Y again for Rom Info. Then choose your AK2 loader. That's what is done for the AK2. Could be different for the AK RPG but I wouldn't know.

because RPG only had 1 loader really released, and it was open source so it could be added immediately.
AK2 will have a release from the AK team but no source code to go with it. so the alternative is to just use their own release, extract the loaders from it in realtime, and use those loaders when a game launches.

RPG never needed that.

Hmm, got a problem with the global settings. In the official firmware, I had this line of text that hid folders/files for me

hiddenFileNames = __aio,akmenu4.nds,gba,gba_save,gba_sign,nds_backup,dsorganize,gba_backup

It doesn't seem to work anymore. Has it been removed completely? Or just changed?

Edit: Also... A clean Pocket Monsters Diamond/Pearl doesn't seem to detect the GBA games... Does this mean I need to use the patcher AGAIN? :/
Try hidding the folders in Windows and changing the option "ShowHiddenFolders" to Disabled (or 0 in the globalsettings.ini).

About Pokemon, are both games ROMs?

I actually fixed the hidden folders.

Yes, they're both ROMs.

Diamond in my AKRPG.
And Ruby in my EZV 3in1.

It worked before without patching on the official firmware. I haven't tried patching my Diamond ROM again, but I don't plan on it. I'll wait and see what happens with the new AIO.

Thank you.

I skimmed the readme, I guess I should read the whole thing

I've got these issues with latest beta on RPG :

Puzzle league : soft reset fails when applied
Zelda PH : soft reset option enabled gives a blank frozen screen at boot time

If someone can confirm that ... thanks

In the short time that I've been here. I've noticed that the Acekard RPG has alot of issues. Or is that just me thinking that. Try the thing before the beta (official) ?

I always seem to get the connecting error when updating my Cheat Database. I changed it in my global settings like the first post says, but... It still hangs.

Short Question about AKAIO:

The Official Firmware supports:

*Support mp3, txxt, avi, dsm, ogg, wav and so on direclty. (avi need convert first. txt support mark)

does AKAIO support it also?

If Yes, can anyone tell me in wich format i have to convert the AVI Files?

yes AKAIO supports avi files
i'm pretty sure(correct me if i'm wrong) that you just have to change the resolution to 256x192 and the frame rate to a macimum of 12.5

I can't get it to work either. I'm waiting for AKAIO 1.2. I thought it was going to be released today but apparently not.

Which quality is better for the DS? DPG, DSM (what the hell is this) or AVI?
