Hacking AK2i System File Missing

Hey guys need some assistance. My son's acekard 2i was formatted and included the firmware update for 1.4. He took his card out and put it in his cousin's dsL. Played for awhile and now it only says "System File Missing". I can only assume he somehow updated her DSL with his card in it. I've tried deleting everything off the card then reinstalling everything but it froze and then said the same error(I didn't update the firmware again cuz it's already on 1.4). Any fixes out there?

ok...u cant update your dsl first of all..all u have to do is BACKUP all the files in your card and then format it, then download akaio and then put the dsi update file in it, put it in the dsl, update it and it should work on the dsi

BACKUP??? So if I do this reformat and install, it doesn't matter that my firmware is already upgraded to 1.4? Also I've tried to reinstall files on the microSD card and now the card cannot even be read by my reader. Assuming I will need a new microSD card?
