Hacking Ak2i running HeartGold

Sorry, but I can't seem to really understand the problem. Perhaps it IS cheats, or maybe you just have a bad dump. Get a new one, or just buy the game.

ok i tried heartgold on akaio 1.6rc2
but still its freezing when entering a building/battle

any other suggestions?
and i have tried playing other games but heartgold is the only one with the problem
and i dont want to try soul silver because i already have 3 badges and dont want to do all the again

heartgold is the only one with the problem, all other games work fine

why is this happening?
i installed akaio1.6rc2 on a formatted 4gb card and only put on heartgold on it
i tried other dumps but same result
i also tried other dma modes on 1.6rc2 but one freezes on the main menu of the game and one just shows 2 white screens

You dont need to make another post until you do the paper trick.

After you have done it, if HG still doesnt work, post again.

try disableing ALL cheats,use akaio 1.7,paper trick,different dump,panasonic formatter and if that doesnt work i woudnt know what else to tell you.... maybe its just the damn hardware

For one the new Heart Gold and Soul Silver games have a new form of copy protection as well as a new IR sensor with a new chip to control it which also switches access to the EEPROM save chip (making it impossible at the moment to copy a save from a flash cart to the original cart although getting the save from the cart is now possible thanks to a modified save dumper) which has been causing all kinds of problems on many flash carts. Worst case scenario is you can just do like I did (see pics below).

Honestly what ever happened to people actually going out and buying games?

Also that R4 is the original version with the faulty spring loaded microSD slot just in case anyone was wondering.

I can understand that. This is reason why wondering when these teams are going add that IR sensor to the cards for these games. Not like is going to matter with new 3DS Carts, which lets guessing what nintendo's R&D people add for its anti Piracy. Also I buy my games that worth purchasing and if not I will rent from gamefly.

im almost done figuring it out, it's not hardware, its software (not saying akaio 1.7) its either the dump, the cheats, or settings

Why wont you try the paper trick?

It wont harm your card in any way and might fix the problem with HG....I just dont understand it....

Just try the paper trick. What have you got to lose? Some paper & tape? Also try restarting your game. Cheats could have effed it up, don't say that you don't want to cuz you already have 3 badges. That won't take more than an hour to get back. Hell, use your SoulSilver save with your HG ROM and see what happens. Or even download my completed save from FileTrip and see what happens, I know for a fact it works.

On Topic: Unless none of your other games have never froze on you, just try the paper trick. People are trying to help you; Don't argue with them unless you have tired it and it doesnt work. What do you have to lose?

Also, losing 3 badges is nothing. When you loss 20+ hours of gameplay in an RPG due to your MicroSD card corrupting, then you can complain.

You can use Chase-San's dumper which requires a Slot-2. Its success rate isn't the best. As it will always dump an SAV but not always will it be playable.

I dont understand how people have all these problems? I bought an acekard 2i a while ago and every game that has come out including heartgold and soul silver has worked flawlessly. I beat heart gold in like 2 days and I can use cheats. And before the 2i I had a acekard 2.1 and it also worked awesome AKAIO is awesome and ive never had a problem with any game using it. For $19 - 25 and free firmware from awesome people who also DO NOT GET PAYED to make it, that's not a bad deal.

Getting the save from the original cart was never my issue. Getting the save I had from the rom I was using before I bought the game to the cart is a problem but I decided that since I wasn't very far in the game to begin with I might as well just start over. I wanted to use the real cart because it's the only way to use the Pokéwalker accessory that comes with it. Also I don't have a slot 2 cart so apps like that are useless to me. The program I found to dump the save from the cart is a modified version of a program called savhax which can use the DS' internal memory to store the save and then write it back to the flash cart's SD card as well as use a slot 2 cart if available. I can't remember right now exactly where I found it. I just know it was while browsing various forums for a solution for transferring the save to and from the real cart which was a few of months back.
