Hacking After following 3ds.guide, what is the way to install/play .3ds?

I know I can ignore the need for slotkey, but is it still take SD card out, generate ncchinfo.bin, use decrypt9, etc etc? No "shortcuts" for any of this?

You can download CIAs directly from Nintendo using freeshop.

You can convert .3DS to .CIA directly with Decrypt9.
But why not just download the games in CIA format already or better yet, use freeShop?

The only .3ds file I have is one I dumped a while ago, and I'm still just testing things out (I haven't messed with 3ds hacking since...when version 9 was the latest?) Still re familiarizing my self with the old stuff and figuring out what new options are available. I have the second gen skyds card (blue button) so I never really messed with CFW too much, but I was watching the 33c3 conference the other day and saw soundhax and was like, damn, I need to check the scene again.

I'm still overwhelmed by how much more advanced the scene is, so thank you guys for pointing me in the right directions!

Helpful hint: Not a good idea to use a converted 3ds online, Nintendo may be able to detect that the version is 0 with a generated private header.
