if you're going to be using the laptop purely for gaming i highly recommend buying a console instead. laptop hardware needs to be upgraded twice a year just to keep up but console hardware is going to remain the same. much cheaper IMHO.

something of interest to OP:

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop...ook?mco=MTE3MzM

white macbook now has 9400m and is still 1000$

in case size is an issue

I got the MacBook Unibody version with the same specs though I have 4GB ram and it plays pc games very well actually. I've been hitting 60-100 FPS in WoW and while raiding I have about 40-50 FPS which is more then fine on this 13" laptop and I can even play GTA 4 and it runs very well though it's almost at the lowest graphic settings but being able to run GTA 4 for example on the run is very nice though I have my flashed Xbox 360 for GTA 4

. It even plays 1080P FullHD material without lagging so just get a wireless mouse and keyboard and hook up the MacBook to a HDTV and you're set to go. The design on the unibody version is so darn nice also and the keyboards is one of the best I've had.

Um no, I doesnt "have" to be upgraded twice a year at all lol. I bought my laptop about 8 months ago and I cant see a reason to upgrade for a long time yet. It still plays everything I throw at it fine. It wasnt that expensive either. It seems every time someone is asking about a gaming laptop someone has to jump in claiming things like "What? A laptop? You must get a PC instead if you want to game!" or "Omg just buy a console"
Obviously if you want an affordable gaming laptop you dont expect the thing to run all the latest games with everything set to ultra high.

I should add mine manages to stay really cool even during extended periods of gaming. My previous laptop used to get burning hot, around the touchpad especially. I was really impressed with how effective the cooling on this one is.

Lol buying a mac is like buying an alienware... both are overpriced IMO i wanted to get a mac mini for iphone programming.. to bad it costs 600 dollars for a REFURBISHED one that probably wont run very fast... I'd rather spend 500 on a nice PC :3
If your gaming and want a laptop... it'll cost ya a pretty penny and might burn your legs if you play with it on your lap xD (it happened to my friend)
how bout this computer xD
its powerful

Bascily buying a "gaming" laptop is an instant gratification thing. After 6 months there will be games that make your laptop look bad or require a far lower resolution then you are used to.

After a year you realized that you pissed away a boatload of money.
