The fact of the matter is that the chances of you ruining your Switch by overclocking it is far less than that of being injured by a vending machine. Us "overclocking" is really just ramping up the CPU and GPU to perform more within Nvidia's safe limits. Even then, it falls short. There are a few thoughts and theories as to why Nintendo gave us the X1 and made it underperform. Like the battery, and thermals... but have you actually tried running your system at the "overclocked" speeds for an extended period? Yeah, it gets warm, but it's not detrimental to the longevity of the system itself. At worst, you'll need to buy a new battery sooner than if you just ran it at stock clocks.
