Custom Robo Arena is a great game but less strategy more action.
I would reccommend, if you haven't already, emulating Pokemon TCG on the Gameboy. It's the Pokemon Trading Card Game in a video game, really. The rules are identical to the tabletop game, and it's great because it's before they added all the other generations of Pokemon.

Bomberman 2 has some this whole upgrade system added, even. Same bomberman gameplay, though.

And... In phoenix wright you collect evidence... So it kinda fits...

Even if it doesn't, still a great game.

Also, do you have the most recent Yugioh game?

No, I haven't got any Yu-Gi-Oh DS games, but I tried to get one, and looked at some screenshots but then I realised it could be very difficult because of the numbers/information/battles etc..

If you need a pure RPG for DS, just grab Chrono Trigger if you haven't played it already. It's one of the deepest RPG's on the system. Drawings and character design by Akira Toriyama, incredible music by Yasunori Mitsuda and the first game ever to have the 2 Japan RPG giants (SQUARE and ENIX) working together.

And about the Megaman games, I would go for the ZX ones as well, mainly because I got bored of the whole Battle Network thing by game 3 on the GBA.
