Hello.

I have a Wii Serial number LAH111 from Australia. It has firmware 4.2E.

My issue is I cannot get any backup loaders to launch any games from USB either from a hard drive or USB stick. I have tried wiiflow, uloader and USB Loader GX

I followed the guide here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 and all the steps went well. I then followed the steps here http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/help/readmii to load and install the usb loader GX, and I then installed the games using WBFS manager. The result was that I can load the USB loader, browse games, install covers, but cannot get any games to launch. Every game just renders a black blank screen after a few seconds of hard drive activity. The furthest any game gets is Mario Kart Wii, which will get to the initial safety screen before moving on to a black screen.

I then installed shipchip which surprisingly did work with a selection of games using ios 249. Then I tried neogamma but this will not work also using 249 and it just times out or goes blank. I then installed cIOSCORP version 3.6, and most of my games will load via the main channel using disc's and this seems to work well with the exception of "New Super Mario bros Wii, which will ONLY load using "uloader" and no other program. This is one of the things that is confusing me.

I would really like to get a USB loader working and am looking for advice and a possible cause with the above info as to why i am having issues. If anyone has any help or incite to help me get this "working" it would be much appreciated.

Should I start again and get my wii back to original to start again?, or is there a way to ensure i have the correct files (ios) installed?

Thanks for any and all help

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
