There was a homebrew called DSFlash released about three years ago that played .swf files....but it was just a proof of concept...and (from memory) it proved that the DS wasn't powerful enough to play any (useful) flash games/movies etc..

Wont these threads just ever stop showing up

NO, the DS is too weak for it.

Did you know i bought a netbook for $500AUS?
cheaper than a DSi when it came out!
it could also run Windows XP with opera and i could watch youtube with it!
it can even run NO$GBA with no lags!

seriously. learn to press the power button on a laptop/desktop

i saw this thread and it's title... then i rofled, it will NEVER happen (no matter how much you want it to)

Never say never.
The problem that the first intent to do something like this, was about some years and without some tools that now exist.
Maybe playing all .swf games will be impossible, but creating something like a Youtube player for DS with need of GBA RAM shouldn't so impossible if someone try it.

What would happen if we hacked the dsi to use all of it's power, would it be able to run it smooth(er)?

sorry for my bad english

The "hackers" still haven't made that breakthrough yet.

It will never happen. Just look at the PSP you could whach youtube on it but every 30seconds it just freezes and you have to w8 another 20 seconds for it to buffer and then it plays for 5 seconds than freezes. If the PSP could barely do it how will the DS.

ADOBE flash will NEVER happen. Reason - It's not open source and Adobe aren't gonna waste time porting flash to a platform not powerful enough. The flash player that was made was a port of an open source flash player, can't remember which one. But I think the best open source flash player at the moment is Gnash or something like that, so someone could theoretically port that, but I doubt the DS or DSi would be powerful enough to run it well. But adobe flash will NEVER happen. Unless done by adobe, but that is HIGHLY unlikely.
