Hi,
I have a New 3DS (XL) running 10.7.0-32 U, with ctr-httpwn running (via ninjhax). I was wondering two things. I read something about needed to be updated to use the update, but I wasn't sure exactly what that meant.

So essentially, would it work on the above system? I have no CFW, just ninjhax on 10.7.0-32 U.

Also, does the update mess up the save editor at all? (Either not being able to extract the save or not being compatiable with the online save editor.)

Thank you!

you can't use it on 10.7, it requires 11.0 or later. you should downgrade if you want to keep homebrew easily and use this update.

yes, it will mess with save editors, I'm pretty sure it changed the format of the save a bit.

If I were to update it, what would happen? Would it simply not run?

Also, I'm not sure if downgrading is plausible for me, I have an Ambassador Status and I really don't want to format my system, as I really don't want to lose my data. I keep hearing that I will most likely softbrick if I don't format, however.

Thanks!

you can try downgrading anyway. if you get a "soft-brick", update with recovery mode to the latest. nothing is lost!

about the "soft-brick", though, we're trying to figure out what causes it, and how to fix it (if possible).

Really, nothing? Would the fact I have ctr-httpwn affect anything? Also, if I didn't do the ACNL update until a save manager is compatiable with it, then once it was, if I updated to 11.2, would I still be able to hack it with ninjhax and the save manager? I know that last question doesn't make much sense, sorry.

ctr-httpwn is a temporary "patch" that lasts until you reboot. you'd probably still be able to do save edits once you update (once a save editor supports the latest acnl), though I would still suggest downgrading.

@ihaveamac, I meant moreso would ctr-httpwn affect the downgrading process or if I had to do recovery mode at all?

Also, what would the likelyhood of a softbrick be for my circumstance?

ctr-httpwn doesn't affect this at all, it's unrelated.

nobody knows. could probably wait a bit, since we might figure out why it's happening.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll continue playing on the first version until then.

Ctr-httpwn doesn't affect recovery mode as you'd have to turn it off in order to boot into that.

Frankenfirm happens quite often (which just need you to re-installed the downgrader). Soft brick is quite rare, though I haven't downgraded any system with ambassador status.
