dstt doesnt lag if you format your microsd right, ysmenu supports folders, dont bad mouth the dstt, for the price its a great cart, especially better than some r4 crap, but ak2 will beat the dstt to death any day.

I really want to know what you mean by formatting. Definitely fair to say that some 2GB MicroSD cards can be fixed, even perhaps some 4GB ones, but once you hit 8GB MicroSD cards or most 4GB MicroSD cards and you fill it up, the DSTT firmware lags, and if you've found a way to avoid that, I'd really like to know, and I mean it.

As for YSMenu, I agree it is a nice firmware, and it makes the DSTT acceptable for the price.

I assumed he was talking about Formatting it with the Panasonic SD formatter.

Hello all,

In the same vein as the OP, I'm interested in buying the Acekard2. I originally was going for the R4 from realhotstuff.com, but after reading the forums here, i guess is not supported anymore. My friend had told me to get the CycloDS, but for $50+, i thought that was steep, especially when I looking to get 4 of them. 3 of them as a cheap add on on top of their christmas present for my nephews/niece and one for myself.

RHS had it for $28, and DX had it from $12 - $65. I guess I"m confused as to what I need. If anybody know where I can get a legit version for a better price then that, even better.

Can somebody help? Thanks much!

FYI. I do find it ironic that a lot of the posts are about getting a legit version...

There are no fake Acekard 2's. The $65 one is an Acekard RPG, not an Acekard 2. You want one of these (depending on whether you already have a microSD reader):

It's highly unlikely that you'll find them cheaper anywhere else...BUT...dealextreme.com usually takes 2 to 3 weeks to deliver, sometimes more. So at this point it's questionable whether you'll get them in time for the holidays.

I'm not sure what a RPG is, but it doesn't sound like I need it or care. I already have a SANDISK 17-1 memory card reader that does MicroSD, SDHC, and so I'm good there. Are there any other suggestions for sites to get it before Christmas? Assuming I get it in 2 weeks, I'm cutting it close for Christmas... Dam...

Yeah, DX does usually ship in 2-5 days, and then takes another 2-5 weeks to be delivered.

You probably don't need or want an Acekard RPG. The RPG is older than the Acekard 2. It's main advantage is that it has some built-in internal memory that can hold the firmware and games (the Acekard 2 keeps firmware and games on the microSD card). But the Acekard 2 is newer and has a few advantages over the RPG, one of which is that it's a whole lot cheaper.

Someone else will have to give you a store that delivers quickly. I've heard realhotstuff mentioned on the forums, but I don't know how fast they are.

What are you ordering that takes over 5 weeks to arrive?

For me (in the UK) it takes 1-2 weeks for the whole lot. About 2-3 days from DX, 2-3 days at HK Post, 2 days shipped, plus any non-weekdays.

Every time I've ordered from DX, it's taken at least 3 weeks to arrive to the U.S. The last time it was a Hori screen protector.

I've ordered twice, and neither has taken longer than 2 weeks (packaging time included) to arrive. I live on the East Coast.

I just bought an AceKard from DX and it should come in about a week now, I dont know. But anyways. I have been reading all about the reviews on DealExtreme.com and it seems that it is real (according to here on GBAtemp). And I have a question, Is it easy to take apart. Did I make the right choice by buying and AK2?

I just bought an Acekard 2.1 from GameByGame.com (used to be DealWoot.com) for $19.99 with free shipping. I've heard their items usually ship really quickly, so hopefully I'll have it by next week.
