Hacking AceKard HWID44

recently got a 3DS and upgraded my DSi to the latest firmware knowing that the AceKard team had already bypassed it's blocks.
updated my AceKard's firmware to the latest official one, but it still wouldn't work on the 3DS or DSi (showed up, wouldn't load).

turns out I have an early AceKard model with the hardware ID 44, and the updates don't support it "temporarily".
it's been quite a while since the update was released, and I've been out of the scene for a while. is there still any hope for this card?

it isn't likely to ever be supported, you should just buy a new hwid 81 card.

I think it's rather annoying that they just decided not to support them anymore, though.
You know of a particular reason for this?

my understanding is that it is hardware differences. the 81 card was revised so it would be much easier to update. i'm pretty sure the 41 card can still be updated but they aren't going to bother.

HW44 is just outmoded unfortunately.

sucks they stopped "supporting" it, but the bulk sold were not HW44. $10 card that works on DS and DSL

then new model needed for DSi and 3DSis best way to think about it.

And i have several HW44s so yeah i'm in same boat but ya know... it happens.
