Hacking Acekard 2i VS CycloDS

I'm wondering is an Acekard2i better than a CycloDS?

R4-SDHC is pretty cool. You could always NDS commercial ROMS through WIFI. And its pretty fast 50 kb/s. But ACekard 2i is better than CycloDs.

CycloEvo is pretty much the standard by which all other cards are compared to, with excellent support, and a plethora of features. It's not DSi compatible though.
AceKard2i is very well supported through the AKAIO team. It also works in the DSi.

You could basically get 2-4 AK2i for the cost of 1 CycloEvo. It's up to you. And if you have a DSi, your decision is already made for you, Team Cyclops doesn't have a DSi compatible cart just yet.

As cycloDs and acekard2i - yeah, I see no negative in acekard - only that phantasy star 0 wifi needs to be fixed (I do not know does it work on cyclo either)

Acekard ui feels good to use, is fast, combatible etc.etc

Actually, since it makes things bit faster by going to file menu straight. Also, since I have one of those old HW1.0 cyclos, with chip coming out the shell under sticker, I think the battery save promise in acekard will work better than cyclo.

The price is last - the ~40$ you save is one point, and worth it against compability in acekard.

Only thing I have against acekard is lack of user made skins - REALLY ndsthemes, only 50 anime skins against cyclos 600 anime skins - and the ones for acekard really vary (from corrupted images or simply bugged ini to "meh") - some are cool but then they do not fit my taste, what forced me to start esit own skins for it

Depends on what you need/want and your budget really.
I personally love my Ak2.1 and probably don't need a Cyclo. Why can I say that even though I never tried out any of those functions? I have a Supercard and I don't use any functions besides soft reset.

What!? Anything besides DSLinux (maybe some other browsers/homebrew too but doesn't matter to me) should only have about 5kb/s afaik.

@JereTHEend Do you stare at the UI for a long period of time?

Plus the Cyclo only needs like 3 pictures for a skin and that makes it so much easier to make skins. (I think?)

R4 fans are confirmed misinformed again... ds max data transfer is about.. 17kbps, and you do not see that while playing wifi game so there is no way to say that.

And yes, cyclo is easier to skin but they are good looking - so many acekard skins are not as appealing - and I find the calendar useles...

I preffer CycloDs on my DSLite
- Good support
- Simple easy to use GUI
- Simple easy to use Cheat system
- In Game Menu/RTS

I preffer AceKard 2i on my DSi
- Good support
- Nice GUI, bit harder, but it's just a matter of getting used to it.
- Just better then almost any other DSi compatible flashcart (iEDGE comes close)

So if you have a DSi, go for the AK2i
If you have a DSLite and will not get a DSi and have a bit more money to spend, go for the Cyclo DS

Of the two, I prefer CycloDS. In my opinion, the only advantage to Acekard is DSi compatibility.

I tested a few new games, Alice and that baseball game and here are the results. Supercard and Acekard didn't work but both games ran fine of the Cyclo. I think at this moment the Cyco has the best feature set and works the best. Of course this is all subject to change.

Get both, starting with the Acekard 2i(only because it's cheaper). When you get a Cyclo a little later on, you'll almost never have to worry about commercial ROM compatibility!!
