Hacking Acekard 2i issues with official and Akaio

I recently bought an AK 2i and a 4GB microSDHC Class 6 for my DSi
First and foremost I've always had an issue with the Akaio loader, it has never been able to load any game
It freezes at the green loading screen, regardless if I hold X or A when choosing a game. When I use the official loader all games load perfectly fine,
which is where my second issue comes up: The games say they save, but when I go back to play again there is no save state
So I have to start again.. (This was pretty annoying after playing most of Rhythm Heaven with my roommates in one sitting)
This leads to another problem The GlobalSettings.ini should be created after the first run, but it has never been created for some odd reason, which I'm assuming is why I can't use cheat also.

This all leads to the following questions
A: How is it that Akaio's loader never loads any game, but the official one does?
B: It seems that the AK 2i can read my memory card, but can't write to it. Anyone else experienced this?

I've bought the card from Real Hot Stuff
and the Memory Card from NewEgg.com
The Memory Card died on me from all the rebooting after freezing, and now I'm using a Sandisk 1GB microSD
The problem persists.

Here's what you do~ and make sure you don't use any old files!!

1. Format your 1GB micro SD with a Panasonic format tool.
2. Download AKAIO 1.5: http://www.acekard.com/download/akaio/AKAIO.1.5.rar
3. Download the latest loader: http://akaio.gbatemp.net/nloaders/index.html
4. Put loader file into __aio/loaders
5. Make a folder games and put in a known game or two (mario, tetris).
6. Put cart into your DS and have it load, then go to system options and disable cheats, soft reset and download play.
7. Run the game which should now work.

I've done that so many times, but only the official. AceKard loader is able to load games
I've also tried different sd cards, my main issue is not being able to save settings or games.
Ice contacted who I bought the card from and I'm gonna send it back for a replacement

That's weird. Maybe you have a fake Acekard? Because AKAIO doesn't work on fakes, but official firmware does. Which seems to be roughly your problem. Or it could just be a faulty one.
