This method is safe for 10.7 not just 10.6, yes? I don't want to end up with a shiny red brick.

40$ is cheap it's a 3ds game and you are going to pirate hundreds of dollars.

Never let anyone borrow an exploitable device because it always ends in a disaster sooner or later. Downgrade while you can now since 10.7 did not have any native fw changes.

I imagine OP wants to go the least expensive route.

He can buy a blue button sky for cheap now. I still have mine running few games for extra space, and is good to say ninjahax\OoThax are probably the most stable entry point.

Rx"tools" doesn't have a function for playing "backups". You have to define backups for me. What "backups" are you playing. Sorry, but it's not making sense. There's two main kinds of backups: a sysnand/emunand and a game backup. Which one are you talking about?

The term is still dumb, but the tagline of this subforum says "Need a way to play 3DS backups? Get in here!". A lot of people use it for some reason.

It stems from the notion that it's legal to make archival backups of software, with the term backups used to differentiate personal dumps of legally owned games from pirated roms. Specifically mentioning piracy was widely frown upon, at least back in the day. I'm kind of surprised gbatemp allows the widespread euphemism of "that iso site," considering.

Yes, I have 10.7 emunand on Cakes (regular cakes, no a9h for me yet) and it works fine.

Just don't update your sysnand by mistake (though it is possible to do that safely if you are on a9h and use the right options)! I have sysnand set to the red theme and emunand as blue to avoid just that.

I actually just bought power saves and oot. They show up Thursday. Watching guides and preparing my files.

I had a N3Ds that soft bricked from downgrading yesterday, that I had to then update to 10.7.0.

I bought the OOT Nintendo Selects cart tonight (20.00) and added the modded save from one of my working units and was able to get into homebrew and re-downgrade without issue the 10.7.0 unit.
