Apparently some people think theres a possibility that the new GW update might not work unless emunand is at 8.0+ and by that point the official firmware might be on 9.0. Doesnt make sense and just makes more people paranoid, especially new people who dont understand what emunand is for.

All nintendo needs to do to stick it to everyone is have new encrypted eshop update along with a mandatory update to play ssb. Just seems silly to update your emunand when if nintendo does release some new encryption having a not to date emunand would still be pointless even if you where at 8.x

I agree. Emunand is just solely for new features and eshop access. There are no new features if you're already on 7.1 emunand.
