Yay, I got it working! Weird though, and I really need to figure it out.

To get it working, I went to the thread where they had the ultimate save file and downloaded the RAW. Using that, it worked.

Now that I think about it, there's two reasons why it might have not worked for me. First of all, it might have failed in converting the file into RAW. Hopefully its not this, because it will be a problem later on down the road for other save files.

The second reason, which I think is the actual reason, is because I was trying to convert a savefile from GameFAQs, which I just realized says "HACKED" in the title. Perhaps it was saved wrong or something like that, but that "HACKED" makes me think that it's not my fault or the programs.

Anyway... I was wondering. What other kinds of things can I do with uLaunch.elf? Is it possible to play PS1 games? I'd love to hear possibilities.

You can use a SNES and a Genesis emulator, both aren't perfect (because of speed issues or glitches etc...) but the Gen one seems to play well while the SNES one isn't if you play games like F-Zero (doesn't run the game smoothly).

Provided you have a PS1 memory card as well, you can download DexDrive saves from PS1 games and use uLaunch and some PC work to convert it so you can use those save files on the actual PSX discs.

Should be possible to do PS2 games as well if you convert those into RAW data.

(EDIT: Here's a guide

Here's a place to start you off with the homebrew

I've never heard any way to launch PS1 games via uLaunch (as it requires the PS2 to switch to PS1 mode). So if I see something like that, even I will be surprised.

Wow... I was so sure there was. Can't remember where I saw it...

Oh well. I guess since it can't, I'm gonna buy a Breaker Pro. I have 25 bucks to do nothing with in my PayPal, and I really want to be able to play PSX games.

Then again... how well do they run in the PC?

(lol, might as well just talk via PM since we're spamming this thread)

When I have time, I'll look through Google again to see if running PS1 games via uLaunch is possible.

The ePSXe emulator should run games well (however, it lacks rumble support) however some games may not work or may crash after some certain part, but chances of those are quite low.
On a 1GHz Athlon, 512MB RAM and a GeForce 6800XT, it runs almost all the games at full speed with some parts slowing down (such as the menus on FF XIII and IX) using software plugin (meaning no graphical enhancement). Graphical plugins can also be used to enhance 3D models making them look more sharper (in expense that they may appear glitched) but they may slow down the game (although it's suppose to be the opposite in theory...).

However, if your computer is much better than what I said earlier and you don't mind the pixels on your screen, try the pSX emulator as it is built with emulation accuracy in mind, and rumble will work too.
